The City of San Francisco's Fourth of July Waterfront Celebration Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 pm. This 21-minute show will be launched from the foot of MUNI Pier and barges just north of PIER 39.

Special Info:
As in years past, the Municipal Pier, located at the foot of Van Ness Avenue, will be closed to the public on the Fourth of July. Boats will not be allowed to enter into Aquatic Park lagoon between 1 pm and 11pm on July 4th. Public transportation is strongly recommended.

We strongly recommend that you take advantage of the extended public transportation services to enjoy Fisherman's Wharf and The City of San Francisco's fireworks display over the Bay. After the fireworks show, please expect delays leaving the Fisherman's Wharf area.

Pre-event shuttle details
Muni will provide shuttle bus service to the waterfront area between the hours of 2 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

* From Caltrain To Embarcadero & Bay.
* From Ferry Building To Embarcadero & Bay.
* From Van Ness & Market To Van Ness & Chestnut.

Regular service details
* Powell-Mason Cable Car: From Powell & Market to Taylor & Bay
* 9X-Bay Shore Express: From City College to Powell & Bay
* 10-Townsend: From Lower Potrero Hill to Embarcadero & Bay
* 30-Stockton: From Caltrain to Broderick & Beach via Union. Some trips may terminate at Union & Columbus.
* 45-Union/Stockton: From Caltrain to Union & Lyon via Union.
* 47-Van Ness From Caltrain to Van Ness & Chestnut
* 49-Van Ness/Mission: From City College to Van Ness & Union

Vehicles will attempt to reach these locations. As the area gets crowded late in the day, vehicles may not be able to reach the exact location. They will get as close as possible.
Return service after the fireworks is from 10 p.m. till 11:30 p.m.

Regular service details
* Mason St. Cable Car: From Taylor & Bay to Powell & Market

* 47-Van Ness: From Van Ness & Chestnut to Caltrain
* 49-Van Ness/Mission: From Van Ness & Chestnut to City College

Boarding locations may change based on traffic conditions at the time. Check with Muni personnel at Embarcadero & Bay and at Polk & Francisco for exact boarding areas. Last shuttle from the wharf to Caltrain leaves at 11:20 p.m. The last Caltrain train leaves SF at midnight.

Muni Metro will be operating extra post-event service to Embarcadero and Caltrain. This service will run until approximately 12:30 a.m.

Reroutes on July 4
Reroutes are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
Line F will terminate service at Steuart Street and Don Chee Way starting at 2 p.m. Use pre-event diesel shuttles from the Ferry Building to Embarcadero & Bay.

Caltrain

Caltrain will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Friday, July 3. It also will operate post-game Giants' service. An express train to San Carlos will leave approximately 15 minutes after the last out or when full and will make all local stops after San Carlos to San Jose Diridon. A second train will leave 25 minutes after the game or when full and serve all local stops to San Jose Diridon.

On the 4th of July, Caltrain will operate on a Saturday schedule with one extra train departing San Jose Diridon at 10:30 a.m. for fans heading to the Giants game. After the game, an express train to San Carlos leaves approximately 15 minutes after the last out or when full and will make all local stops after San Carlos to San Jose Diridon. A second train will leave 25 minutes after the game or when full and serve all local stops to San Jose Diridon.

Three extra trains will depart San Francisco after the fireworks show. The extra trains will depart at 11 p.m., 11:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The 11 p.m. and the 11:15 p.m. trains will express to San Carlos and then make all local stops to the San Jose Diridon station. The 11:30 p.m. train will make all local weekend stops to the San Jose Diridon station. Train #454, the last southbound train of the day, leaves San Francisco at 12:01 a.m. and makes all local stops to the San Jose Diridon station.
